12 August 2007- The final year psychology students had an enjoyable weekend as they spent their day at Little Sisters of the Poor, an old age home in Bajjodi. The visit was a part of their final year course in psychology.
The students arrived at the home at 10 am. After a brief talk with the sisters of the institution the students plunged themselves in helping the sisters by cleaning the floors, corridors, chairs etc. “Doing these jobs at home has always been a burden, but we really enjoyed doing it here. It was very satisfying”, says Sindhu M.V. The students regained their vigour after a short tea break at 10:45. They continued their work and left the place sparkling clean by afternoon. They were then provided with a delicious lunch after which they were given time for relaxation till 3:15.At 3:30, the students came forward with an entertaining session of cultural programs consisting of foot tapping songs and exhilarating dance performances. A few games were also conducted which enlivened the audience. Rayappa, who was the M.C. for the program generated laughter in the audience with his simple yet light hearted jokes. The program came to an end at 4:45 after which the old and the young joined hands and tapped their feet to the music played. All in all it was a day of realization in togetherness. The students were able to explore the realms of fun and work unfettered by the barriers of age and language!!!
